The 'Why' Behind What We Do

We started OnPoint Coffee Roasters out of a love for high quality coffee and a passion to help others. After being introduced to excellent coffee on a mission trip to Peru, we began a journey that led to the beginnings of OnPoint Coffee Roasters.

Walt & I were owner operators of a moderately sized woodworking business where we made custom furniture. The craft of producing heirloom quality furnishings is not too different from craft roasting coffee-both are a balance between art and skill. Much in the same way we enjoyed highlighting the uniqueness of the different woods we used in woodworking, we love being able to develop flavor profiles and bring out the character qualities of coffee from different regions.

What we really enjoy about the coffee industry is that we can make a global impact! Every coffee we buy is sustainably and ethically sourced ensuring the farmer makes a living wage for his/her crop. The green coffee we buy is Fair Trade, Direct Trade and/or organically grown. We work with co-ops that are making an effort to improve the quality of the bean as well as their own communities. Many are women owned.
